Olav Sorensson Omtveit (also spelled Aamtveit) was born 1857, the son of Soren Hakesson Aamtveit (1814 - 1890) and Margit Lavrantsdotter Sporastaul (1815-1890). He had an older sister, Anne (1854) and a younger brother Bjorgulv (1859). 

He married twice - 1x) in 1884 Tone Midtboen Torsdotter Heggtveit (1864 - 1889) and 2x) in 1897 Gunhild Halvarsdatter (1853 - 1928).

Olav and Tone had three daughters; 1) Margit Omtveit (1885), 2) Gro Omtveit (1887) and 3) Tone Omtveit (1889).

Olav died in Aamtveit, Norway in 1936. Tone Torsdotter died at Aamtveit in 1889 (the same year as the youngest child was born). Gunhild Halvarsdatter died in 1928 at Aamtveit.

1) Margit Omtveit was born in 1885 to Olav and Tone Omtveit. She married Halvor Jorundsson Verpe in 1907. He was born in 1885 and died in 1951. They had four children; a) Jorund (1908), b) Olav (1909), c) Knut (1911) and d) Bjarne (1931).

a) Jorund Verpe was born in 1908 to Margit and Halvor Verpe. He married Svanhild Andresdotter Oya in 1932. They had five children.

b) Olav Verpe was born in 1909 to Margit and Halvor Verpe. He married Anlaug Olavsdotter Haugerud in 1940. Anlaug was born in 1921. They had four children.

c) Knut Verpe was born in 1911 to Margit and Halvor Verpe. He married Bergit Andresdotter Ovrebo in 1933. She was born in 1912. They had three children.

d) Bjarne Verpe was born in 1931 to Margit and Halvor Verpe.

2) Gro Olavsdotter Omtveit was born the 22 January 1887 in Brunkeberg, Norway to Olav and Tone Omtveit. She married Jon Gunnarson Brauti in 1909. (See Brauti)  He was born the 30 January 1887. Gro died the 29 December 1967. Jon died the 19 September 1962. They had eleven children; Dordi (1909), Gunnar (1911), Tone (1912), Gudrun (1915), Gunhild (1916), Torhild (1918), Olav (1920), Ragnar (1922), Magne (1925), Signe (1928) and Sigmund.  

3) Tone Olavsdotter Omtveit was born in 1889 in Brunkeberg, Norway to Olav and Tone Omtveit. She married Toralf Gunnarsson Brauti (brother to Jon who married Tone’s sister Gro) in 1912. Toralf was born in 1893. They have seven children; Gunnar (1912), Tone (1914), Dordi (1916), Olav (1919), Johannes (1921), Margit (1923) and Signe (1933).

a) Gunnar Brauti was born in 1912 to Tone and Toralf Brauti.

b) Tone Brauti was born in 1914 to Tone and Toralf Brauti. She married Alf Andersen Sorumshaugen in 1946. He was born in 1917.

c) Dordi Brauti was born in 1916 to Tone and Toralf Brauti. She married Reidar Syversen in 1950.

d) Olav Brauti was born in 1919 to Tone and Toralf Brauti.

e) Johannes Brauti was born in 1921 to Tone and Toralf Brauti. He married Marie Leifsdotter Aarstad in 1953.

f) Margit Brauti was born in 1923 to Tone and Toralf Brauti.

g) Signe Brauti was born in 1933 to Tone and Toralf Brauti.
